Carnival 2026 at LFIDD: A Celebration of Creativity

On February 20th, students from TPS to CE2 at the Lycée Français Denis Diderot de Nairobi celebrated Carnival 2026 with a joyful theme: Birds.

A colorful parade

For several weeks, students designed and created their costumes in class. Many outfits were made using upcycling, combining recycled materials and a wide range of textures.

On carnival day, the school turned into a vibrant aviary filled with colorful parrots, tropical birds, owls and flamingos.

A celebration for the whole school community

The event included:

• a costume parade

• music and dancing

• joyful moments shared by students, teachers and families

Carnival is one of the most anticipated events of the year and an opportunity to celebrate creativity and community spirit.
