On May 12th, Lycée Français International Denis Diderot proudly celebrated the “Month of Languages”, a special event dedicated to multilingualism, cultural diversity, and international-minded learning.
Through immersive workshops, cultural activities, and collaborative experiences, students from kindergarten to secondary school enjoyed a true journey around the world without leaving Nairobi. This event perfectly reflects LFIDD’s mission: providing high-quality bilingual and international education in Kenya.
Discovering Languages and Cultures from an Early Age
In kindergarten, students explored different cultures through international stories, multilingual songs, and creative calligraphy workshops inspired by traditions from around the world.
This enriching experience was made possible thanks to the involvement of parents, who shared stories, songs, traditions, and native languages with the children. These meaningful exchanges encouraged curiosity, openness, and respect for cultural diversity from an early age.
International Games and Sports for Secondary Students
Secondary students began the day with international games and sports activities celebrating cultures from across the globe.
Students discovered traditional games such as mahjong, mölkky, and awale, while also taking part in sports including hockey, fencing, and Senegalese wrestling.
These activities promoted teamwork, collaboration, and intercultural learning through sport and play.
14 Countries Represented by Student Ambassadors
In the afternoon, the campus of Lycée Français International Denis Diderot transformed into a vibrant international village.
Fourteen countries representing different regions of the world were showcased through interactive cultural stands prepared by student ambassadors. Visitors had the opportunity to discover traditions, languages, food culture, and national heritage from around the globe.
Students also completed quizzes and collected specially designed country stamps in their LFIDD cultural passports, creating an engaging and memorable learning experience.
An International School in Nairobi Focused on Global Education

This celebration once again highlighted the importance of promoting diversity, bilingualism, and international education for future global citizens.
