Africa Forward Summit 2026 in Nairobi: LFIDD Students Take Part in an Exceptional Athletics Session with Sebastian Sawe and Kiprun Iten

On May 11, 2026, students from the Lycée Français International Denis Diderot (LFIDD) enjoyed an exceptional sporting and human experience during an athletics session organised as part of the prestigious Africa Forward Summit at the University of Nairobi.

Led by the French Development Agency (AFD), the event highlighted the role of sport as a driver of education, inclusion, and cooperation between France and Kenya.

One of the highlights of the day was the official launch of the students’ running session by Sebastian Sawe, a leading figure in international athletics and a world-class marathon runner.

LFIDD high school students also had the opportunity to take part in technical workshops led by coaches and elite athletes from Kiprun Iten by Decathlon.

Based in Kenya, the academy is recognised for its expertise in high-performance sport and the development of elite athletes.

The Lycée Français International Denis Diderot warmly thanks the French Development Agency (AFD) and France in Kenya for providing this unique opportunity to its students.

The school also extends its sincere thanks to Adrien Brelot, LFIDD Physical Education teacher, for his support and commitment throughout this memorable day.

At LFIDD, an international bilingual school in Nairobi, we strongly believe that sport is a powerful tool for personal growth, confidence, and success.
