Last week saw the launch of the ASEM training course.
ASEMs (Specialised Nursery School Agents) are professionals who work alongside teachers to ensure the well-being and education of children in nursery schools. They support children in their development and learning on a daily basis, ensuring their safety and helping to awaken their curiosity.
On a day-to-day basis, ASEMs are responsible for welcoming children and ensuring their hygiene, as well as running workshops in the classroom and supervising and leading activities during extra-curricular activities.
This year sees the start of a training programme for our ASEMs, led by our Master Trainer. This year’s programme includes
- The role of the ASEM: equipment maintenance, education and teaching support
- The stages of a child’s development – Running a teaching workshop
- The specific role of the ASEM in a French school abroad – Specific professional techniques for acquiring French in a non
- French-speaking environment and taking into account the mother tongue.
All of the training is enriched by analysis of practices based on videos, classroom observations and individual interviews.
