Holiday Camp at LFIDD: A Week of Sports, Creativity and Adventure for Students

From February 23 to 27, the Lycée Français Denis Diderot de Nairobi organized a dynamic holiday camp for students from Grade 1 to middle school, combining sports activities, creative workshops and exciting outings in and around Nairobi.

Cooking and Baking Workshops

The cooking workshops were a real highlight of the week. Students learned how to follow recipes, handle ingredients and work together as a team while discovering the joy of preparing their own meals.

Among the recipes prepared during the week were:
Potato roll with minced meat, ricotta and spinach
Pizza Margherita
Crème brûlée
Apple pie
Red fruit smoothies
Exotic fruit smoothies

Beyond the culinary experience, these workshops helped students develop independence, patience and creativity, while giving them the pride of tasting their own creations.

Fencing: Strategy, Focus and Fair Play

Students also took part in a week of fencing training, where they developed concentration, strategy and self-control.

The program concluded with a final tournament on Friday, where students demonstrated their progress and sportsmanship.

Outdoor Activities and Adventures

Several outings added excitement to the week’s program.

  • Students experienced indoor climbing at Diamond Plaza, where they challenged themselves physically while building confidence.
  •  They also spent a day of adventure at The Forest, located in the beautiful Kereita Forest. Activities included paintball, archery and outdoor exploration, offering students an unforgettable experience in nature.
  • Another highlight was visiting the ice rink at the Panari Hotel Nairobi, where students enjoyed the rare experience of ice skating in Nairobi.

Throughout the week, students also participated in multi-sports activities, basketball bootcamps and skateboarding sessions, encouraging teamwork, physical activity and confidence.

A Balanced and Enriching Program

This holiday camp at LFIDD reflects the school’s commitment to providing students with engaging experiences beyond the classroom, combining sports, creativity, exploration and social interaction.

The next holiday camp will take place from April 27 to 30, offering students another opportunity to enjoy a week filled with activities, discovery and fun.
