Little Reading Champions 2026: celebrating reading aloud and confidence

On Friday, January 16th, 2026, the Lycée Français International Denis Diderot de Nairobi hosted its school final of the Little Reading Champions competition at the Alliance Française.
Six finalists from three CM1 and CM2 classes took part in the event, reading aloud a chosen book extract.

Throughout the morning, students demonstrated excellent oral skills, combining fluency, clear articulation, and expressive reading.
All performances were of a very high level, making the jury’s decision particularly difficult.

At the end of the final, Antso (CM1) and Eve (CM2) were selected as the school winners and will now represent the LFIDD at the zone final.

Beyond the competition, this event highlights the importance of reading aloud at school. It helps students build confidence, improve oral communication, and develop a love of reading.

The LFIDD warmly thanks the Alliance Française for their welcome, the jury members for their support, and the teaching teams for their dedicated preparation of the students.
