On April 2, 2025, the Lycée Français Denis Diderot of Nairobi hosted a memorable ceremony to celebrate the MUN (Model United Nations) diploma ceremony, in the presence of students’ families, teachers, and members of the educational community.
This year, 18 students from Grade 7 to Grade 12 took part in two major international conferences: EAMUN and MSMUN. They demonstrated impressive leadership, remarkable eloquence, and strong commitment to complex global issues ranging from human rights to environmental protection.
A highlight of the ceremony was the heartfelt speeches delivered by students reflecting on their MUN journey. Ilyes Mahi (Grade 12), Ghita Laassel (Grade 11), Océanne N’Dongo-Socié (Grade 7), and Juliette Sy Suquet (Grade 7) shared their doubts, pride, and above all, their determination to make their voices heard in a demanding diplomatic setting. Their ability to debate, persuade, and collaborate reflects both the quality of their preparation and their passion for international issues.
We were honored to welcome:
- His Excellency Arnaud Suquet, French Ambassador to Kenya and Somalia and Permanent Representative to the United Nations,
- His Excellency Boumediene Mahi, Algerian Ambassador to Kenya,
- Denis Sainte-Marie, Cooperation and Cultural Action Advisor, French Embassy in Kenya,
- as well as the Headmaster Bruno Maris and Claire Karadi, Primary School Director.
Their presence underscored the importance of this educational program and the recognition of MUN as a true leadership incubator for tomorrow’s changemakers.
We warmly congratulate our students for their dedication and hard work. Through MUN, they are developing key skills such as public speaking, critical thinking, teamwork, and global awareness.
We look forward to seeing them shine in future conferences and diplomatic challenges!
