Kangaroo Math Competition at LFIDD: making mathematics engaging and accessible

On March 19, 180 students from Grade 6 to Grade 10 at the Lycée Français International Denis Diderot of Nairobi took part in the Kangaroo Math Competition, a well-known national mathematics contest.

The competition aims to make mathematics accessible to all by offering a fun, game-based approach through puzzles and logical challenges. During a 50-minute test, students develop their reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

As an international school in Nairobi, LFIDD integrates this initiative into its commitment to academic excellence and strong STEM education. The Kangaroo Competition helps foster a positive relationship with mathematics while strengthening essential 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, autonomy, and logical reasoning.

This event also highlights the dedication of the teaching staff, especially the mathematics teachers, who support students throughout their learning journey.

Results will be announced late April to early May, recognizing the efforts and engagement of all participants.

Through initiatives like this, LFIDD reinforces its position as a leading French school in Nairobi, committed to delivering high-quality international education.
